What is VoIP?

VoIP (or Voice over Internet Protocol) uses your broadband Internet connection to make and receive calls instead of your standard phone line. Aristus converts your phone calls into data that zips through your high-speed Internet.

Can I use my existing phone?

Yes. Once you receive your free phone adapter, all you have to do is follow the instructions to connect it. Then you’re ready to start making calls! If you already have a VoIP phone and don’t need the free phone adapter, we will be happy to help you set it up.

My company already has an analog PBX. Can I use my companies PBX with Aristus?

Yes you can. An adapter will need to be installed that will integrate your PBX with the Aristus VoIP service. We will configure the adapter and send it to you so that the installation will be seamless.

Do I need a computer to use Aristus?

All you need is a, high-speed Internet connection, a touchtone phone, and a phone adapter. Your free phone adapter is included at no additional charge when you place your order. (Excludes AK & HI)

How long does it take to transfer my number?

The transfer process takes from 2-10 business days. You will need to complete the Letter of Authorization form to authorize the transfer of your number. Then, when you receive your Aristus adapter, you can install and use it immediately!

How is the sound quality with Aristus?

Aristus call quality is comparable to that of traditional landline or mobile phone service. Should you decide to purchase your own HD quality VoIP phone, calls to any other HD quality VoIP phone will have the same sound quality as an audio CD.

What do I need to get started with Aristus?

In order to use Aristus service, you will need the following:

• A broadband Internet connection, such as cable or DSL.

• A U.S. billing and shipping address.

• A Phone Adapter is included with your purchase and shipped at no additional charge when you place your order. (Excludes shipping to AK & HI)

• Any standard touch-tone phone, corded or cordless phone.

What are the per-minute rates to mobile phones not included in my plan?

All calls to mobile phones in the USA are included in your plan as well as calls to mobile phones in select countries. Calls to mobile phones that are not in your plan are charged a per-minute rate. Please our International Rates to verify the per-minute rate to the mobile phone in the country that you would like to call.

Will I still receive calls if my power or Internet service goes out?

No. Unfortunately, the VoIP service relies on your internet connection in order to place and receive calls. When your internet service goes out, your VoIP phone service will go out as well. We urge customers to have a mobile phone handy in case your internet service goes out.

Are calls to mobile numbers free with Aristus Global Unlimited?

Global Unlimited includes free unlimited¹ calling to cell phones in many countries. Please see our International Rates to verify the per-minute rate. If free unlimited calling to cell phones is not included for the country you call most, you still get GREAT per-minute rates for those calls too.

Is an Internet connection included with your service?

No. In order to use Aristus service, you’ll need to have broadband Internet service from a third-party Internet Service Provider (ISP). Aristus works with any high-speed Internet service (such as DSL or cable).

Which countries are included with Aristus Global Unlimited?

Aristus Global Unlimited includes unlimited calling to landline phones in all cities and locations in more than 60 countries. Plus, it also includes unlimited calling to mobile phones in select countries. Please see our included Country List.

Can I use my Aristus phone line to send a fax?

Yes, you can use your Aristus phone line to send faxes. Simply connect your phone line to your fax machine, ensure that the Baud Rate on your machine is set to 9600, and you are ready to send or receive a fax. Even though you can use your main phone line to send faxes, it is highly recommended to have a dedicated fax line.

Will I receive a paper bill?

No, but you can see your statement anytime by logging in to your Aristus Customer Portal. You can also see past and present billing activity and print copies of your statements to keep for your own records.

How do I add more lines with my order? (including fax)

Additional lines can be added at the time of signup or once your primary number is activated with your initial order.

Can I transfer my number to Aristus and how long will the number transfer take?

The number transfer usually takes 7 to 10 business days from the time you complete the Letter of Authorization (LoA). If there are any issues, we will send an email to you or call you on the contact information you have on file.

Will Aristus work with my home alarm system?

At this time, Aristus doesn’t work with home alarm systems.

How do I cancel my Aristus service?

If you do find the need to cancel your Aristus Service, you must request your cancellation by telephone. Please call Customer Support 1-888-805-7127 between 9AM and 5PM PST.
